Auteur Helpsheet Task

Task
You are to produce an ‘Auteur’ helpsheet based upon a director. Please litter your helpsheet with images to help back up your argument. This can be done digitally or by simply sticking images and type onto a4 sheets of paper. The worksheets should be of a high standard as they will be distributed to the class for revision purposes.

Your helpsheets must include the following:

  • Short 100-word biography
  • Name 5 key films by the director
  • List the characteristics and recurring themes of the director
  • What influences does the director cite? This could be a film or other forms of arts or popular culture.
  • Which other filmmakers have the director influenced?
  • Which film would you say was quintessential of their style and why?
  • Using your imagination, pitch a new film (not yet made, and probably never will be) that could be made by the director. Explain your reasons.

Auteur Theory and Cornell Notes

This work is for Friday's lesson (you are not in college) and this week's homework. There will be a test on Monday the 20th.
Watch the Auteur Theory clip and take notes using the 'Cornell Method'. If you are not familiar with this method of note-taking, watch the clip below. It will also help you with your other courses.
I will want to see evidence of your notes.
